The Pranksters
Bill Baker Bass & Vocals

Bill grew up in the small town of Piseco Lake in the Adirondack Mountains, and lives in Sand Lake NY with the love of his life, his wife Suz.  Bill's style features a combination of his major influences Chris Squire, John Entwistle, Phil Lesh, Berry Oakley, Jaco Pastorius, Mike Gordon, and Stephan Lessard.   Bill began playing Bass in high school and moved to Utica NY, where he played with Dusty Creek and progressive band wizards Q.T. Hush.   Moving to Albany Bill has played in such groups as Adrenalin, Sapphire, Mojo Lightning, and The Reverberators.   Bill is finally playing bass and singing songs he really loves.... the jamband music of the band he founded The Green Mt. Pranksters.

Suz Baker Vocals, Percussion

Suz is an accomplished performer with a background in a number of performance mediums.  She has acted and sung with many theater troupes, bringing her unique perspective to musicals, comedies and dramas with equal flair.  In addition to GMP, she adds her vocals & acting to The Mellodrama Singers, an entertainment group that volunteers their time performing for senior groups, assisted living facilities and nursing homes.

Born and raised in Poestenkill, Suz now enjoys her home, family, and hot tub in Averill Park, NY.  Suz is a great addition to the Pranksters who "have helped me find a hidden spirit."  She says, "Performing has always been a huge part of my life, but now I get to do it with my best friend.....my husband Bill!"

Andy Roth Guitar, Harp & Vocals

Andy Roth began playing guitar as a teenager after studying piano and cello and experimenting with various other instruments, including harmonica, flute, and synthesizer.  A man of diverse influences, Roth has played the blues, as well as classical, folk, reggae, jazz and country.  "I like to mix it all together to create something new."  After high school he began to listen to the eclectic stylings of the Grateful Dead.  "I like the Dead's approach; I try not to copy Jerry too much; I prefer to copy his attitude toward the music."  Born in Boston and raised in Niskayuna, NY, Roth is now resides in Saratoga Springs.  He has performed in a number of Albany/Saratoga Area bands, including General Eclectic, Storm, Cosmic Debris, Hydroponic Philharmonic, and The Bob Barker Band.  In addition to solo and duo performances with his wife Andrea,  Roth also played for 10 years in the duo; Tom and Andy (T&A) until the untimely death of long time friend Tom Glade in 2006.  More recently he was lead guitar player with the power house band American Dreamer until leaving to pursue the music of his heart with the Green Mountain Pranksters.  "I think the Jamband genre the most interesting thing happening today.  Hope to see you soon at a GMP show!"
